He was the only republican running against Trump
Weld was the governor of MA in the 90s, and ran as Gary Johnson’s running mate in 2016
He usually got 5-10% of each state’s contests, but only got one delegate so far, from Iowa.
Now it’s down to Trump and Biden

He was the only thing holding us together

I don’t think Bernie has dropped out yet, he’s just cutting back on some advertising.

Bernie didn’t drop out, but there is no realistic path to him winning the nomination. He will
need over 60% of the remaining delegates to win it
Tulsi has a better chance of wining than Bernie, being the only candidate under 70, and old age is a risk factor for the corona

He hasn’t. Tulsi Gabbard is of course still with us as well. Bernie doesn’t have much chance at this point, and Tulsi has vastly less chance than that.

Weld never had a realistic path from day one, he would have gotten more practical use out of the $1.9 million he spent if he had put it in a big pile and lit in on fire, since at least there would have been some heat and light generated. Sanders at least started out strong and still had some justification for hanging in until a bit after Super Tuesday.

Now it’s down to Trump and Biden
Assuming they’re both there on election day. Given they’re smack in c oronavirus’s target demographic , there’s a not-insignificant cha n ce one of them won’t be, even with all the healthcare money can buy . Which will make life intere sting.

Probably the reason Tulsi hasn’t dropped out
Otherwise, Trump is actually the youngest 2020 candidate! Weld is about a year older than Trump, a couple years younger than Bernie and Biden
Right now, Bernie and Biden are already
at the average
life expectancy, corona or not.

I’m not sure it helps Tulsi though. Biden dies, and everyone else just unsuspends their campaigns, and the convention picks someone who is definitely not Tulsi.
I honestly don’t know what happens if a candidate dies after the ballots for November are set, but it still wouldn’t be Gabbard.

of course she wouldn’t get the nomination, but she might think that
It would also depend on the time of death. If the death was after the DNC convention and Biden already picked a running mate, that running mate would probably get the top of the ticket and get to choose another running mate
If he dies before picking a running mate, before the convention, or even before the primary season is over, then it might go into either the second (or third) highest delegate count (Warren is in third place), or just the superdelegates making the choice.
I don’t think any of the dropped out candidates have to even
officially
un
suspend their own
campaigns because superdelegates can pick whoever they want

And now she’s out. Endorsing Biden. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/tulsi-gabbard-drops-out-of-presidential-race-endorses-biden/2020/03/19/c723f8f4-4d07-11ea-9b5c-eac5b16dafaa_story.html
